Hi, folks! My name is Lauren! I have been a cheerleader at H.H. Dow High School for three years and I absolutely love it. I also love music! I was given a guitar as a Christmas present about two years ago. Although I have played it a few times, I have never really taken the opportunity to officially learn how to play it correctly.
I am posting this blog because of a project I was given in my English class called 20 Time. The project instructs each student in the class to pursue a goal they've always wanted to do but have never found the time to do it. We spend 20% of our class time this semester further reaching our goal. For my project, I chose to finally learn how to play my guitar. I've really wanted to play it, but I was always busy. However, I've always loved music and the guitar. I see people playing it and think to myself: "Wow, I wish I could do that." I'm ready to finally make that wish come true.
My grandpa has been playing the guitar since he was in high school. I hope to be able to play and sing a song with him by the end of this project. My goal is to learn how to play at least 3 songs and to obtain lessons that I attend each week. I hope to really thrive in my guitar playing all throughout my life. I believe this will also make me a happier person in the process. I will post each week about my progress, goals, myself, or anything that is on my mind at the moment.
